Monroeville JCPenney has grand opening celebration. The store reopens in the west end of the mall where Kaufmann's and Boscov's once were. JCPenney is celebrating its grand opening Friday as the newest attraction at Monroeville Mall. A ribbon-cutting ceremony was held to welcome shoppers to the store's new location in a space formerly occupied by Boscov's at the west end of the mall. Mall goers will also notice a few new features inside the department store, including a Sephora cosmetic department and a professional hair salon. Plans call for a new movie theater to be built in the old JCPenney location in the center of the mall.
