Cam Troy Flowers

Cam Troy Flowers (often remembered as Cam Merle’s) was a long-standing floral and plant kiosk located in the center of Monroeville Mall during its peak decades. It is a frequent point of nostalgia for local residents who grew up visiting the mall in the 1970s and 1980s.

History and Location

• Prime Placement: The kiosk was famously situated on the upper level, right by the middle escalators. This was a high-traffic area directly above the mall's original Ice Palace skating rink and across from the entrance to JCPenney.
• Visual Identity: It was known for its "step-up" design, where customers would walk up a few stairs to enter the kiosk area, which was filled with a variety of fresh flowers and green plants.
• The Name: The "Troy" in the name likely references the Troy Hill neighborhood of Pittsburgh, which was historically a hub for family-run greenhouses and nurseries that supplied floral retailers throughout the city.
